                                 Reflection on class presentations

Throughout these presentations, I was able to learn more about communication in different environments and how important communication is in everyday life. The presentations covered chapter 3 intercultural communication, chapter 9, communicating in groups, and chapter 10 group leadership and problem-solving. Even though these topics all connect to communication, each chapter focused on a different aspect of how people interact with one another. Overall, I genuinely enjoyed listening to these presentations because they were informative, relatable, and easy to connect to a real life situations. I also appreciated hearing different presentation styles from classmates because they made the experience more engaging and showed how communication itself can vary from person to person.

The presentation on intercultural communication stood out to me the most because it discussed how culture Affects the way, people communicate, think, and understand others. I think this topic is especially important today because society is so diverse and people interact with individuals from many different backgrounds every day. One thing I found interesting was learning how misunderstandings can happen simply because people were raised with different communication styles or cultural expectations. For example, some cultural value direct communication while others are more indirect and focused on politeness or respect. This made me realize how important it is to avoid making assumptions about people based on our own perspectives.

I also like how the presentation explains barriers to intercultural communication such as stereotypes, prejudice, and ethnocentrism. These are issues that can negatively affect relationships, teamwork, and even workplace. The examples given during the presentation made the topic easier to understand because they connected the chapter concepts to a real situations. People experience every day. Listening to these presentations, reminded me that communication is not just about speaking carefully, but also about listening understanding and respecting differences. I think this lesson can help people improve both personal and professional relationships for future reference.

The presentation about communicating in groups was another topic. I found very relevant because group work is something almost everyone experiences in school, work, and life in general. The presentation explained the importance of teamwork, participation, and making sure everyone contributes equally. I could especially relate to this topic because group projects can sometimes be stressful when communication is poor or when not everyone participates in the same amount. I liked how the presenters discussed different roles people take on in groups, such as leaders, supporters, and organizers. It helped me understand why some groups function better than others.

One thing that stood out to me during this presentation was the discussion about conflict in groups. Many people think conflict is always negative, but the presentation explained that conflicts can actually help groups grow and improve if it is handled respectfully. I thought this was an important point because disagreements happen naturally when multiple people are working together. Instead of avoiding conflicts, groups should focus on solving problems, productively and making sure everyone feels hurt. I think this is something many students, including myself can improve on during group assignments.

The communication in groups presentation also made me reflect on my own experiencing working with others. Sometimes I prefer working independently because it makes it feel easier to control the outcome, but this chapter reminded me that collaboration is an important scale. Learning how to communicate effectively with others can lead a stronger ideas and better results overall. I also noticed how important organization and accountability are within a group. When everyone communicates clearly and stay responsible for their tasks, the group becomes much more successful.

The final presentation about group leadership and problem-solving connected well with the previous chapters because leadership plays a major role in communication and teamwork. I found this presentation, especially useful because leadership skills are valuable not only in school but also in careers and future professional environments. The presenters explains how different leadership styles

and how leaders help guide group towards situations that may be difficult. I liked that the presentation emphasized that leadership does not always mean, controlling others. Instead, strong leaders, encourage communication, motivate people, and help groups stay focused.
One of the most interesting parts of this presentation was learning about problem, solving strategies. Many groups struggle because they jump to conclusions too quickly or failed to consider different perspectives. The presentation explained how groups should carefully identify problems. Brainstorm solutions, evaluate options and make decisions together. I think these strategies are extremely important because they help groups avoid confusion and become more efficient. I also appreciated how the presenters gave practical example examples that made the concepts easier to understand.

Another important lesson from the leadership presentation was the idea that good leaders are also good listeners. Sometimes people assume leadership is only about speaking confidently or being in charge, but listening is equally important. Leaders need to understand the opinions and concerns of group members in order to make effective decisions. This idea changed my perspective on leadership because it showed that leadership involves cooperation and emotional intelligence not just authority.

Overall, I thought all three presentations were informative and connected well together. Each chapter focused on a different part of communication, but together they showed how communication affects relationships, teamwork, leadership, and understanding people. I enjoyed hearing examples from classmates because it made the material feel more relatable instead of just from a textbook. The presentations also helps reinforce the importance of communication skills in everyday life.

Personally, these presentation reminded me that communication of one of the most important skills people can develop. Whether interacting with different cultures, working in groups, or dating others, communication affect success, and almost every area of life. I think the lessons from these chapters will continue to help me both academically and professionally in the future. Since communication is such an important part of business, leadership, and teamwork, I can already see how these topics connect to my future career goals as well.

In conclusion, I enjoyed the presentation and thought they provided valuable information about our communication and teamwork. The presenters explained the topics clearly, included related examples, and helped make the chapters more engaging. I learned a lot about inter, culture, communication, group, dynamics, leadership, and problem-solving. Most importantly, these presentation to reminded me how important it is to communicate respectfully, listen carefully, and work effectively with others.
