Daphne Araya Blog: Reflection on Communication and Teamwork
Communication is something people use every day without always realizing how important it actually is. Before this project, I mostly thought communication was just about speaking to other people, but after working on the presentation and learning more about the topic, I realized communication affects almost every part of daily life. Communication can affect teamwork, leadership, relationships, problem solving, and even the way people understand one another in different environments. Overall, this project helped me better understand how important communication is in both personal and professional situations.
One topic I found most interesting was communication within groups and teamwork. Working in groups can either go very smoothly or become stressful, depending on how people communicate with one another. Everyone communicates differently, which can sometimes make teamwork difficult, especially when people have different opinions or ways of handling situations. At the same time, strong communication can help groups stay organized, solve problems faster, and work together more effectively. This made me think about how important communication is not only in school projects, but also in jobs and everyday life situations.
I also found leadership styles interesting because different types of leaders can affect how a group works together. Some leaders are more understanding and encourage teamwork, while others are more controlling and focused on getting tasks done quickly. Learning about these different styles helped me understand why some groups work better together than others. It also showed how communication and leadership are connected because the way a leader communicates can influence the entire group.
Overall, this project helped me understand communication on a deeper level and showed how important it is in everyday interactions. Communication is not only about speaking, but also about listening, understanding others, and working together effectively. This project made me realize how much communication affects everyday life, especially in school, work, and group environments.
